Originally a small cathedral city, Glasgow has grown into a dynamic provincial city and centre of culture within easy reach of miles of unspoilt countryside. Within the city Pollok Country Park provides a perfect opportunity to explore one of Glasgow’s many green spaces and stop off at Pollok House. Easy access to countryside around the city opens up a wealth of routes in diverse scenery – from Loch Ard Forest and the Campsie Fells north of the city, to brief sojourns on the Isle of Bute and the little island of Inchmahome to the best of the Clyde valley to the south, including the deservedly popular Strathclyde Country Park.
