Cheshire is an ideal county to explore on foot. Rocky rivers and broad river valleys form natural routes for the walker. A landscape of rich agricultural land, woodland and lowland heath coupled with the rugged and spectacular scenery of the Pennine Moors. Historic Chester is featured in one of the walks and it provides a great opportunity to explore the city's many historic delights. Canals are a familiar feature of the county, a reminder of its proximity to the centres of the Industrial revolution in the north west.
